Clients firstly either register their enquiry by phone, email or by completing the Enquiry Form.
Before we can start a search we need to know the following:
1. Manufacturers part number, make and model.
2. The timescale the goods are required in. This is most important as, for example, if the goods were
required by 9 am the next day and we receive the enquiry at 4pm then this will not give us enough time to source from the
USA or overseas market so we would be confined to looking very locally. However, if we had, say 14 days then we
could source from anywhere in the world.
3. Condition - the less specific the condition of the unit then the more chance we have of finding
one. If it is a very old product then we would in most cases be looking at a second user model. Remember, all
the products we supply come with a full warranty of between 90 days and 12 months.
4. Quantity - and if a client needs them all at the same time or a quantity can be spread over
a time period.
5. Budget - remember, the price you will pay may bear no resemblance to the original purchase
price when the item was first purchased. This works both ways so a unit costing £500 five years ago might be available
for £50 or £950. It is market forces and simple supply and demand will dictate secondary market prices.
6. Purchase Order - in most cases we need a PO and permission to proceed should we find the
product and it meets all of the criteria. This is very important as a product will very often increase in price if there is
a time lag between the first enquiry and the second.
